Apparently I’m taking requests now.

So my wife has developed quite the “photographer’s eye” these days.

For as much snow as we got a couple weeks ago, it’s pretty crazy how little I’m seeing when I look out my window. Well, even though there’s little to no evidence left, I still have photographic proof that it happened.
Granted, this is a sporty-looking 4-door coupe, but that’s still an impressive amount of snow!
I don’t really feel too bad about it. After all, he’s been in snow before. You’d think he’d have learned his lesson.
He completely disappeared when he landed. Bet he’s kinda mad at us.
Wow, it’s been a long time. Not that I’m lazy, but I’m going back through all my photos to see if I can dig up some good ones. Someone recently gave me a great quote about what separates a pro from an amateur photographer. Basically it come down to size matters. Now, get your mind out of the gutter…
The size of their “trash can.” Pros take a crap-load of photos and most are never seen by anybody. In 2015 I shot 6478 “general” photos. This figure doesn’t take into account all the paid gigs that my studio handled. That would bump the number of images up to 29,925. Still not an enormous number compared to a lot of pros, but when you factor in the fact that I only considered 90 good enough to post here, that’s a lot. A mere 3 tenths of a percent were deemed decent enough to represent my studio.
Wow, long story short, here’s one of those images that never made it here (at least I don’t think it did).
It was almost a year ago that we had our first snowfall and two weeks ago it was nearly 80 degrees!
I’m amazed that this is only our second day in the parks – we’ve done so much already this week and a great deal of it has nothing to do with Disney. Ya see, we’re selling our house and closing while we’re down here. Geez. Thank goodness we have a kick-ass realtor! Anyway, I’ve been itching to get up in the air to shoot some awesome photos, but I’m more than slightly concerned about the Disney no-fly zone. I’ve checked, and our hotel is outside the 3-mile radius, but still…ya know? And I’ve only taken my good equipment into the parks once – to Hollywood Studios for the fireworks. Didn’t get a really good angle, but still a great show. So most of my images have been with my GoPro, which isn’t a bad camera, but it won’t shoot RAW – BOO – anybody at GoPro reading this? 😉 And yes, Disney has now banned all selfie sticks. They even have pamphlets about it! BOO – anybody at Disney reading this? I can actually understand that rule, but I’m not the idiot who’d do something stupid with it. It’s everybody else :P.
Due to extreme temperatures and weather conditions, Spring will be operating on a 2-month delay.
I’m giving up Winter for Lent. Who’s with me?!
My course just missed an entire week’s worth of class time. Gonna have to play catch up.
Yep, that pretty much sums it up.
I’ve looked forward to flying this thing while it snowed. Now that I have – meh…
I got the call that the city schools were called off so I got excited that it might make for some great images. Schools were cancelled because of this!?
This is as bad as it got today.
I know it may not look like it, but this lady pulled out in front of me and I almost hit her. This is what the super-wide angle of 15mm will do to an image – it expands the space and makes things look so much further away. I was testing out the new car mount that I got for my GoPro since I’d been having issues with the suction cup losing it’s suction (it’s a first generation suction cup mount). The new mount is a heavy-duty magnet that is rated up to 100 mph. So far so good – and a lot easier to set up.
Another “1-click wonder” using my presets “stacks.”
I think more than just the students enjoy a snow day here and there!
Snow day fun at Handley
Loads of images to go through. Long weekend. Very little sleep. Horrific road conditions on the way home. Still had a good time. Thank goodness for that ingenious invention – the rumble strip.
For the last 40 miles of my trip the rumble strip was the only way I could tell where I was. This is I-66 in VA. Average speed was about 30 miles an hour from Richmond to Winchester!
Yeah, I’d say we got some snow today! And, of course, Waldo had loads of fun running around in it. He actually disappeared a couple times – it’s deep. How deep? About two Telly Awards deep – depending, of course, on where you measure.
